Fri., Feb. 3 - PIERSANTI ART OPENING & RustRidge WINE TASTING

Previously known for his editorial work, Jersey City artist Robert Piersanti has eschewed most of his commercial work, and for nearly 10 years has been painting full time, with shows from Manhattan to Jersey City, to Miami to Milan. His commercial work can be seen in the New Yorker magazine, as well as on CD packaging and book jackets.

The paintings that will be on display at Boca, beginning on Feb. 3, are large scale portraits of local Jersey City women that illustrate his love of contemporary pop culture and rock and roll.  These beautiful pieces must be seen! Come join us.

We are also excited to announce that we will soon be carrying RustRidge wine!  While you're here for the art opening, we invite you to stay for a complimentary wine tasting, hosted by Jim Fresquez, to mark this great addition to Boca's menu.

Sun., Feb. 26 - SALSA SUNDAY: HEARTS & RIBBONS CANCER BENEFIT 

Come in for Salsa lessons and dancing and help contribute to a great cause! All proceeds from the door will go to the Tomorrow's Children Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to speeding the healing of children with cancer and serious blood disorders.

Fri., March 2 - JC ARTIST STUDIO TOUR & UNBLOCK THE ROCK LIVE METAL SHOW

Boca Grande is proud to be participating in March's JC Friday with the work of Robert Piersanti.  

This evening will also mark the first birthday of Unblock the Rock, a local grassroots effort to bring the Cuban hardcore band Escape, who are featured in the soon to be released feature length documentary "they will be heard" (www.theywillbeheard.com), to the United States for the first major Cuban metal tour in America.  To mark this occasion, Boca will host a live metal show.  All proceeds from the door go to Unblock the Rock to help get Escape to the U.S.

Welcome to the New Year! We can already tell that 2012 is going to be the best.  This may or may not be because of our paranoia about what may come in December... But, hey, whatever it takes. My new anthem is "Tonight I'm gonna party like it's 2012"!

January has some exciting things in store for Boca Grande - one of which asks you to journey over or under the river to our great neighbor to the east for a night.  We promise you can come right back to JC, though, and we'll be waiting for you!
